Delete your Word Drop data
Word Drop is an Android word game published by 5amStudios. When you play, the game creates an online player for you so your scores can appear on its leaderboards. This page explains how to delete that player and everything stored with it. You don't need to have the game installed to ask.
What is stored online
The leaderboards run on Unity Gaming Services, a service of Unity Technologies. For each player they store:
- a random player ID
- the name shown on the leaderboards: your Google Play Games name if you're signed in to Play Games, otherwise a name the game makes up
- your leaderboard scores, including your best words, for each language you play in
- the link to your Google Play Games account, if you signed in
Option 1: in the game
- Open Word Drop and tap Settings on the main menu.
- Tap Delete my online data.
- Tap Delete to confirm.
Your online player and its scores are deleted straight away. If you keep playing, the game starts a new online player with no scores.
Option 2: by email
Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Word Drop data” and the name you appear as on the Word Drop leaderboards. 5amStudios will delete your online player within 30 days and reply to confirm. If more than one player has that name, you may be asked a question to find the right one.
What is deleted and what is kept
- Deleted: your online player, its name, all of its leaderboard scores and its link to your Google Play Games account.
- Kept on your device: your records, items and settings are saved on your phone, not online. They stay until you uninstall the game or clear its data in your Android settings.
- Kept by Google: achievements are stored by Google Play Games, not by 5amStudios. You can manage or delete your Play Games data in the Google Play Games app settings.
5amStudios keeps no copy of deleted data. Unity may hold backup copies for a limited time under its own policies, described in the Unity Privacy Policy.
